2001

The SCAF got its start when I was thinking of methods of power generation. I had the idea while thinking of the wooden toys that are powered by candles below a rotor. After some investigation I found the idea already in use in the form of solar towers, but the one thing that has always concerned me in Europe is the amount of air pollution. The system seemed to be ideal for removing pollutants from the air without the need of an external power source apart from the sun.

2002 - 2003

The SCAF idea and design developped and the DSC panels were included in the design to provide a meaningful power production to increase the structures usefulness and appeal to a city.

2003 - 2005

The SCAF concept was chosen by the Lausanne section of the UTS and the first small display model was built for the association's 100th anniversary HumanTech itinerant exhibition.

2005 - 2006

The idea was futher developped and turned into a project. SPA, the SCAF Project Association was established in early 2006 to find sponsorship for the prototype construction and endeavor to stimulate interest in the project from cities or states.
